Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely popular. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts and caused her to feel uncomfortable. As she entered the 9th grade she began to feel more secure after being applauded by her teachers for singing at a school's audition. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed the direction she was heading in her the future. At 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. When she turned 23 she began her journey in Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old her first film debut was You've got mail. Her greatest break came in the role of The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. Following that, in 2007 she was cast on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy and became more well-known. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended version of her play. She is also a campaigner and has been active to promote LGBT rights.
