Zoe-perry

Perry is Perry is a Chicago native who was she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television included two episodes as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in The ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mom. She did not consider a career in acting after reaching adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental consequences stress can cause. Perry, who was too timid to perform in the school, began performing at Northwestern University because she wanted to meet new people. After graduating Perry moved in New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California which is where she discovered theater work. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a part in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, she was a part-time character in the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. That same year she appeared as a younger character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother in a younger version. The character was picked through an audition, even though she had a close relationship with the show.
