Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam having Chinese roots, while Winston Barrett Munn's clan has roots that go back to the American South. The couple split when she was only two years old. Her mother raised her along with her stepfather, who is a United States Air Force officer. Even though the family moved out of Oklahoma and lived in a variety of areas, she was raised within Tokyo, Japan. She appeared in local theater productions throughout this time and was a actress for Japanese business. Olivia was able to move from Japan to Los Angeles when her family eventually came back in her home in the United States to follow her ambition to become an actor. Her acting journey began with a small character. Her career then began to take off after she was cast as Mily Acuna in the Hawaii-lensed television show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007 she portrayed Rob Schneider's Receptionist. She hosts the podcasts "Formula D", "The Daily Nut", and "The Daily Nut". Surfing is her passion, and she practices it ever since she appeared on the television show Beyond the Break (2006). Additionally, she holds a black belt in taekwondo. When she was two, her mom remarried. The second time, she got married to the son of a US Air Force serviceman. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather served.
